A dynasty segment, too

Happy Wednesday and welcome to this week’s Deep Dive Fantasy Newsletter. With some space between now and the upcoming NFL Draft, it’s time to get a little weird around here.

If you've ever struggled to enjoy cannabis due to the harshness of smoking or vaping, you're not alone. That’s why these new cannabis gummies caught our eye.

Mood is an online dispensary that has invented a “joint within a gummy” that’s extremely potent yet federally-legal. Their gummies are formulated to tap into the human body’s endocannabinoid system.

Although this system was discovered in the 1990’s, farmers and scientists at Mood were among the first to figure out how to tap into it with cannabis gummies.

Since we have a slight lull until the 2024 NFL Draft, let’s go over some of the best names in this year’s draft class. Here’s a position-by-position look at some of the sweetest football names who could grace the NFL with their presence at the end of April.

💪🏼 Quarterbacks

Michael Penix Jr., Washington (PFF Rank: 46, Underdog ADP: QB32, 226.1)- The phallic jokes are getting a little stale already but a QB with Big Penix energy had to make this list.

Spencer Rattler, South Carolina (PFF Rank: 70, Underdog ADP: QB45 240.0)- A great football name in general, but pretty solid for a QB prospect.

🤲🏼 Wide Receivers

Adonai Mitchell, Texas (PFF Rank: 30, Underdog ADP: WR46, 97.9) - His first name means God or Lord in Hebrew. He’s basically the biblical version of naming your kid Champ or Boss.

Ladd McConkey, Georgia (PFF Rank: 32, Underdog ADP: WR56, 122.6) - As a UGA alumni and total homer, I’ve been digging this Ladd for longer than most. The puns here are endless.

Jamari Thrash, Lousiville (PFF Rank: 83, Underdog ADP: WR106, 237.9) - The last name Thrash is pretty decent for a wideout. Not as great as Slash, but solid.

🦵🏼 Running Backs

Bucky Irving, Oregon (PFF Rank: 84, Underdog ADP: RB56, 186.7 - With a name like Bucky, he has to be the quintessential teammate you want in the trenches.

Audric Estimé, Notre Dame (PFF Rank: 116, Underdog ADP: RB59, 193.5) - He sounds like some sort of sorcery swordsman hero from Lord of the Rings or the like.

🍑 Tight Ends

Brock Bowers, Georgia (PFF Rank: 7, Underdog ADP: TE9, 82.0) - Not only is Brock Bowers the best tight end by far in this year’s draft class, but he also boasts the perfect name for the position maybe ever.

Tip Reiman, Illinois (PFF Rank: 188, Underdog ADP: NA) - While the name Tip may be better suited for a member of the secondary, tight ends can still snag “tipped” balls.

🙅🏽‍♂️ Secondary

Kool-Aid McKinstry, Alabama (PFF Rank: 34) - No explanation is needed on this one. “Oh, yeah!”

T.J. Tampa, Iowa State (PFF Rank: 35) - There have to be some plays named after this guy.

Ennis Rakestraw Jr., Missouri (PFF Rank: 42) - The visual of this Mizzou product out in the fields raking straw is something, although I’m not sure that is actually a thing. It’s a great name, though.

🛑 EDGE

Jared Verse, Florida State (PFF Rank: 17) - Second verse, same as the first, a little bit louder and a little bit worse.

Chop Robinson, Penn State (PFF Rank: 43) - He’s looking to chop at those QBs at the pro level. (not my best work, but Chop Robinson is still a great football name)

With the NFL Draft right around the corner and dynasty managers everywhere gearing up for one of the biggest fantasy football-related events of the year, the annual dynasty rookie draft, it is easy to overlook the NFL veterans. These players just might be the key to your next league title, which is why Eric Hardter has started a new series uncovering the value found in these reliable (and maybe boring) veterans.

He begins at the top of the list with Forgotten Dynasty Veterans: Top Tier. My favorite discussion from this article centers around Buccaneers receiver Chris Godwin…
