šŖ Buy, Sell & Hold These Players
There's Still Plenty of Season Left
The Deep Dive Fantasy Newsletter is now coming to your inbox seven days a week throughout the NFL season! In this Wednesday edition, weāll cover trade candidates, the best matchups for Week 3, and of course the happenings over at 4for4.
*Every Friday will feature a mailbag segment so if you have any questions you want answered, please send them to [email protected] by Thursday afternoon at 3:00 PM ET. Thanks!

Your leagueās trade market is officially open for business and there will be plenty of overreactions after just two weeks of play. Using 4for4ās powerful trade evaluator tool, Iāll highlight players to buy, sell, and hold each week, but be sure to head over and check it out yourself based on your specific roster settings.
Buys
WR A.J. Brown š¦
Now is a great time to find out if the manager in your league who drafted Brown is worried that heās been outproduced by teammate DeVonta Smith. It hasnāt been the greatest start for Brown but he does lead the team in target share (30%), and the Eagles played much better in Week 2. The volume and output will come for the Philly WR.
Give up: An RB such as Joe Mixon or Kenneth Walker
RB Rhamondre Stevenson š¤ŗ
The Patriotsā RB has seen 18 touches in each of the first two contests so far this season but only has 75 total rushing yards which could make him a buy-low-ish candidate this week. Ezekiel Elliott doesnāt seem to be a threat to Stevensonās volume as he saw zero targets on Sunday night, so itās wheels up on that lead-back role in New England.
Give up: A WR2 like DK Metcalf or Deebo Samuel.
Sells
RB Dameon Pierce š
Weāre dealing with a high-volume, low-ceiling RB sitting on a bad offense. Play up his usage when trying to make a deal and perhaps you can get someone to bite on Pierce.
Look to Acquire: An upside WR
TE Kyle Pitts šŖŗ
After two weeks Pitts is TE29 in half-PPR points and TE26 in total targets with a measly eight. You canāt drop him but you can try to find someone who still believes in his value. The Falcons have Detroit, Jacksonville, and Houston coming up so now is a great time to pitch his upcoming soft schedule.
Look to Acquire: Any player in a better situation
Hold
WR JaāMarr Chase
RB Josh Jacobs
WR Jaylen Waddle
WR Nico Collins

Schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed, or aFPA, is 4for4ās answer to biased statistics. By removing bias, we can level the playing field and compare matchups in an "apples-to-apples" manner. This paints a more accurate picture for fantasy owners. By Week 4, we have a pretty good sample size to work from, but the data gets even more trustworthy as the season wears on. Once we hit Week 12, we'll start using rolling 10-week data so the numbers stay relevant.
This early in the season I am basing my suggestions on last yearās data, and wonāt include the obvious starts like Patrick Mahomes or Justin Jefferson. These are the best matchups for Week 3.
Quarterbacks
ā”ļøJustin Herbert @ Vikings
Not only were the Vikings 27th in QB aFPA last season, but they yielded 16.0 fantasy points to Baker Mayfield in Week 1 and 25.2 to Jalen Hurts last week. Herbert is QB3 through the first two weeks of the season despite his team being winless and is set up for success at least from a fantasy standpoint again in Week 3.
š¦ Jared Goff vs. Falcons
Checking in as the QB10 thus far, Goff has another solid matchup this week at home against Atlanta. Heās averaged 18.5 fantasy points in each of the first two games and should give us another starting fantasy performance on Sunday in Detroit.
Running Backs
š¦ Jahmyr Gibbs vs. Falcons
With David Montgomery sidelined with a thigh injury, Gibbs should see more volume in this soft matchup. Consider the Detroit RB a borderline RB1 heading into this tilt with Atlanta.
š¹ Isiah Pacheco vs Bears
Chicago was 28th last season in RB aFPA and appears to have picked or not picked up right where they left off. Aaron Jones hung 25.7 half-PPR points on the Bearsā defense in Week 1 and Bucs RB Rachaad White posted 18.8 last week. It should be a get-right week for Pacheco in KC on Sunday afternoon.
Wide Receivers
š Jordan Addison vs. Chargers
Since I canāt offer Justin Jefferson as an option, Iām going with teammate Jordan Addison. The Chargers have allowed the most fantasy points per week to WRs this season (49.1 half-PPR) and this week is a must-win for both franchises, or at least it feels that way.
š“āā ļø Mike Evans vs. Eagles
Letās keep rolling with Evans this week at home against the Eagles. While it may seem like a bad matchup, Philly has actually surrendered the fifth-most half-PPR points per game to WRs so far this season (39.2). The surprising 2-0 Bucs will look to stay afloat this week in Tampa Bay and will likely target the hot hand.
Tight Ends
š¤ Jake Ferguson @ Cardinals
The Dallas TE has seen the seventh-most targets so far this season and is establishing himself as a nice weapon for Dak Prescott. The Cardinals are allowing 9.6 half-PPR points per contest to TEs in 2023 which sits 24th.
š¦ Sam LaPorta vs. Falcons
LaPorta has 10 receptions for 102 yards in his first two games as a professional and Week 3 looks like a chance for more success. Atlanta allowed an overall TE2 performance from Hayden Hurst in Week 1 and a decent output from fellow rookie Luke Musgrave last week.
