DFS Values and Contrarian Plays
Top Cash Game Values and GPP Contrarian Plays for Week 2
The Deep Dive Fantasy Newsletter is now coming to your inbox seven days a week throughout the NFL season! In this Saturday edition, we’ll cover the top DFS values and contrarian plays for Week 2, and of course the happenings over at 4for4.
*Every Friday will feature a mailbag segment so if you have any questions you want answered, please send them to [email protected] by Thursday afternoon at 3:00 PM ET. Thanks!
Using 4for4’s powerful DFS Value Reports, I’ll highlight the top DFS value plays at each position.
Week 2 Value Plays
QB Josh Allen ($9,200 FD/$7,900 DK) 🐃
Josh Allen is a top-two quarterback value on both FanDuel and DraftKings according to 4for4 value scores. The Bills have the highest team total on the main slate (27.75) and face a Raiders defense that allowed the ninth-highest EPA per pass play in Week 1.
RB David Montgomery ($6,300 FD/$5,800 DK) 🦁
In Week 1, David Montgomery was one of seven backs to see over 20 touches. Now the Lions are 4.5-point home favorites against a Seahawks defense that allowed the Rams’ backfield to compile 26.3 half-PPR points, the sixth-most in Week 1.
WR Puka Nacua ($5,800 FD/$4,900 DK) 🐏
There was no bigger surprise last week than Puka Nacua, who led the league in targets (15) and was second in target share (40.5%). Nacua is the clear top pass-catcher in the Rams offense while Cooper Kupp is out and LA should be in a pass-heavy game script as 7.5-point underdogs in Week 2.
TE Luke Musgrave ($5,000 FD/$3,200 DK) 🧀
In his first regular-season game as a pro, Luke Musgrave ran a route on an elite 80% of Green Bay’s dropbacks and was targeted on 15% of throws. With Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs limited, Musgrave could lead the Packers in targets against a Falcons defense that allowed the second-most tight end points to Hayden Hurst last week.

Week 2 Contrarian Plays
Every week, 4for4 produces some of the most accurate DFS ownership projections in the industry. Using this ownership as a guide can point us to the best contrarian options to use in GPPs on both FanDuel and DraftKings.
QB Geno Smith ($7,000 FD/$5,900 DK)🦆
The Seahawks and Lions meet in Detroit for a game with the second-highest total on the main slate (47.5). While the Lions project for the highest cumulative passing game ownership on DraftKings and fourth-highest on FanDuel, Seattle comes in 16th and 13th. Geno Smith is stackable with a trio of pass-catchers that should all draw single-digit ownership.
RB Josh Jacobs ($7,500 FD/$7,100 DK)☠
Josh Jacobs is unlikely to draw single-digit ownership but he should be in significantly fewer lineups than the primary passing game options in this game, namely Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, and Davante Adams. Jacobs was one of two running backs to see at least 90% of his team’s backfield touches in Week 1 and Las Vegas could use their star back to slow down this game and try to keep it close.
WR Christian Kirk ($6,000 FD/$5,100 DK)🐆
After Calvin Ridley dominated targets in Week 1 and Jacksonville shied away from 3-WR sets, Christian Kirk will go overlooked in this potential shootout. GPP lineups that consider stacking Trevor Lawrence with Ridley should consider adding a low-owned Kirk, who could thrive if the Jaguars use three wide receivers as they did in 2022.
TE Mark Andrews ($8,000 FD/$6,300 DK) 💜🖤
The Ravens-Bengals game carries the fourth-highest total on the main slate (46.5) but the Baltimore passing game is expected to go largely ignored. Mark Andrews has as high of a ceiling as any tight end when active but if any high-salary ownership goes to tight end this week, it figure to go to Travis Kelce.
