Top Cash Game Values and GPP Contrarian Plays for Week 16

Together with GameBlazers: The Next Generation of Fantasy Sports

The Deep Dive Fantasy Newsletter is now coming to your inbox seven days a week throughout the NFL season! In this Saturday edition, weā€™ll cover the top DFS values and contrarian plays for Week 16, and of course the happenings over at 4for4.

Using 4for4ā€™s powerful DFS Value Reports, Iā€™ll highlight the top DFS value plays at each position.

Week 16 Value Plays

šŸ» QB Justin Fields ($8,300 FD/$7,100 DK)

Coming in as 4for4ā€™s best quarterback value on FanDuel, Justin Fields gets one of his easiest matchups of the year against a Cardinals defense that has allowed the third-most passing touchdowns this year. While Fields has struggled in two of his last three games, he still offers that safest quarterback floor on the slate, averaging nearly 50 rushing yards per game. On a weak running back slate, Fieldsā€™ high floor is especially important in cash games this week.

šŸ’œ RB Ty Chandler ($6,900 FD/$5,600 DK)

In Alexander Mattisonā€™s absence last week, Ty Chandler handled 26 touches, amassing 157 total yards and a score. Mattison is expected to be out again in Week 16, making Chandler 4for4ā€™s top running back value on DraftKings and a top-three value on FanDuel. Detroit is a pass funnel but the 47-point total suggests that Chandler should have ample scoring opportunity as the Vikings workhorse back.

šŸ» WR D.J. Moore ($8,200 FD/$6,900 FD)

Never mind D.J. Mooreā€™s poor performance last week as his numbers when Justin Fields plays a full game are tremendous: eight targets, 96 yards, and 21 PPR points per game. While Moore is priced appropriately on both sites, the potential for four-wide receiver builds in cash means Moore could be a priority over many running backs.

šŸ† TE Evan Engram ($6,300 FD/$5,400 DK)

The Jaguars are already without Christian Kirk for the year and are expected to be without Zay Jones in Week 16, opening up targets for Evan Engram, who already averages just a touch under eight targets per game. Tampa Bay is the biggest pass funnel in football, allowing the fewest schedule-adjusted points to running backs but ranked bottom four against all other positions. There is still a chance Trevor Lawrence plays.

Week 16 Contrarian Plays

Every week, 4for4 produces some of the most accurate DFS ownership projections in the industry. Using this ownership as a guide can point us to the best contrarian options to use in GPPs on both FanDuel and DraftKings.

ā QB Dak Prescott ($8,500 FD/$7,900 DK)

Dallas-Miami has the highest game total on the slate (50) but both quarterbacks project for single-digit ownership on both sites. While rostering Tua Tagovailoa essentially locks you into expensive stacks with Tyreek Hill, Dak has had enough success with options other than CeeDee Lamb that you can get creative and unique on the Dallas side.

šŸ¦ RB Jahmyr Gibbs ($8,400 FD/$7,000 DK)

On one of the worst running back slates of the year, a lot of mediocre plays at the position will carry undeservedly high ownership. On such a slate, it can be fruitful to simply chase explosive players in favorable game environments. Thatā€™s exactly what Jahmyr Gibbs offers in a potential shootout. Against the Vikingsā€™ stout defense, explosive plays are more likely to be a catalyst for scoring than sustained drives. Gibbs will offer huge leverage off of mega-chalk Ty Chandler on the other side.

1ļøāƒ£2ļøāƒ£ WR DK Metcalf ($7,600 FD/$6,700 DK)

Geno Smith will return in Week 16 which bodes well for the entire Seattle passing attack against a Titans defense that can be beat through the air. Since Metcalf has the highest salary among Seahawks skill players, he is likely to be overlooked but the matchup favors him as Pat Kerrane points out in this weekā€™s Walkthrough.

šŸ» TE Cole Kmet ($6,200 FD/$4,400 DK)

D.J. Moore is the obvious player to pair with Justin Fields but Kmet offers boom potential as well. Kmet wonā€™t have minuscule ownership but on a slate with only nine games, a tight end in the low double digits may be unique enough, especially when he is playing opposite Trey McBride, who figures to be the most popular play at the position.
