Tonight is the start of your 2023 fantasy football championship week and we have a defensive battle on tap for TNF. I’ll still be hitting your inboxes during the playoffs and offseason but in a much more limited capacity.

Quarterbacks

What stands out: The only major change this week at the top of the QB ranks is the return of rookie C.J. Stroud after missing the last few weeks due to a concussion. That, and a tough matchup with the Ravens sends Miami QB Tua Tagovailoa down to QB13 in Week 17.

Running Backs

What stands out: This week’s RB1 table has some new members joining the feast. Out from Week 16 are Tony Pollard, Raheem Mostert, Bijan Robinson, and Ty Chandler. They are replaced by Travis Etienne, Breece Hall, Saquon Barkley, and Jahmyr Gibbs. Bills RB James Cook also falls from RB3 down to RB12 thanks to a stout Patriots run defense.

Wide Receivers

What stands out: The changes at WR this week all take place at the bottom of the WR1 ranks. Chris Olave, Brandon Aiyuk, Puka Nacua, and Nico Collins take the places of DJ Moore, Stefon Diggs, DK Metcalf, and Cooper Kupp. This is the first time in 2023 that Diggs is listed as a WR2.

Tight Ends

What stands out: TJ Hockenson and Cole Kmet are sidelined due to injury, and in their place in TE1 territory we have Dalton Schultz and Gerald Everett.

The Browns are 10-5, currently hold the No. 5 seed in the AFC, and are enjoying a new life led by veteran journeyman QB Joe Flacco. They’ll host a New York Jets team that has already been eliminated from any postseason action tonight. We still have title games on the line so here are the fantasy-relevant projections.
