Schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed, or aFPA, is 4for4ās answer to biased statistics. By removing bias, we can level the playing field and compare matchups in an "apples-to-apples" manner. This paints a more accurate picture for fantasy owners. By Week 4, we have a pretty good sample size to work from, but the data gets even more trustworthy as the season wears on. Once we hit Week 12, we'll start using rolling 10-week data so the numbers stay relevant.
Quarterbacks
šŖ Sam Howell @ Rams
Despite the Commandersā woes, Howell is the QB7 in total fantasy points thus far, (QB9 in FP/game) and gets a juicy matchup this week to keep it going. The Rams sit 25th in QB aFPA, yielding 19.1 points to enemy signal callers each week in 2023.
š Matthew Stafford vs. Commanders
On the other side of the ball, Stafford will face a Washington defensive unit that allows the most aFPA per contest this season to opposing QBs. The LA QB is 4for4ās QB8 heading into this weekās matchup.
Running Backs
š Kyren Williams vs. Commanders
Williams continues to be the workhorse in the Rams backfield and boasts the most touches among RBs over the last three weeks (74). Heāll host a Washington defense that ranks 31st in RB aFPA heading into Week 15.
ā”ļøAustin Ekeler @ Raiders
After the three-week slump, Ekeler returned to form last week with an 18.5 half-PPR performance. Heās missing his QB and gets a soft defense in the Raiders on Thursday night as they sit 27th in RB aFPA.
Wide Receivers
š”ļøDeAndre Hopkins vs. Texans
Nuk has seen 12 targets in each of the last two contests and has found the end zone in three of his last four games. Week 15 brings a Texans defense that is surrendering the fifth-most aFPA to enemy WRs this season.
š Puka Nacua vs. Commanders
We have another Ram in a great spot this week against a porous Washington defense. The Commanders yield the most WR aFPA per contest this season (36.1) so fire up Nacua and Cooper Kupp too if you have him.
Tight Ends
š T.J. Hockenson @ Bengals
We get Nick Mullens under center this week for Minnesota facing a defensive unit that is allowing the most aFPA to TEs in 2023. Hockenson is 4for4ās TE2 heading into this Saturdayās contest.
šŖ Logan Thomas @ Rams
Heās not the most consistent TE but Thomas is in a great spot this week against the Rams. The LA defense is surrendering 12.6 aFPA per week this season to the position (30th).
Honorable Mentions
*number in parenthesis is aFPA rank
Lamar Jackson @ Jaguars (28th)
Jordan Love vs. Buccaneers (29th)
Will Levis vs. Texans (30th)
Jahmyr Gibbs/David Montgomery vs. Broncos (25th)
Christian McCaffrey @ Cardinals (30th)
DeAndre Swift @ Seahawks (29th)
Davante Adams vs. Chargers (23rd)
DK Metcalf/Tyler Lockett vs. Eagles (31st)
