There were some serious storylines that developed in Week 1. These are some of the headlines you could easily see today as the fantasy world reacts.

Ridleyā€™s Believe It or Not

Calvin Ridley is back. Fantasy managers tend to have short memories but Ridley showed he still has some juice left in the tank after a monster Jaguars debut that featured eight catches for 101 yards and a touchdown. If he can establish himself as Trevor Lawrenceā€™s top target, he has WR1 potential.

Aiy Opener

Brandon Aiyuk is legit. He rebounded from a poor 2021 season to become a solid contributor last year. However, his explosive Week 1 which featured eight catches for 129 yards and two touchdowns shows us the best could be yet to come.

Heā€™s Purdy Good

Brock Purdy was the right choice in San Francisco and should be considered as a weekly play in fantasy leagues. He threw for 220 yards and two touchdowns in what has become a typical and workmanlike effort that sees him make very few mistakes.

Not Quite Over the Hill

There was a lot of talk about Tyreek Hill pondering retirement this off-season. However, his 11-catch, 215-yard, two-touchdown performance will quiet any concern of his imminent departure. There are few players in the league as explosive as he is and itā€™s clear he has a monster season in store.

All Aboard?

The Bijan Robinson hype train has been out of control for the better part of the off-season and he was solid on Sunday, scoring his first NFL touchdown. The problem is Tyler Allgeier had five more carries than Robinson and both goal-line touchdowns for the Falcons. This time-share is going to be a huge story to watch all season as Allgeier clearly isnā€™t going away.

Every week seems to bring us a terrible injury and this year was no different as Ravens running back JK Dobbins tore his Achilles on opening day. This is an awful development for Dobbins, who will now miss another entire season. He will now have played in just 23 games in his first four years and while he can be safely dropped in redraft leagues, his dynasty value is now in serious doubt as well. Meanwhile, Gus Edwards is again going to be elevated to RB2/Flex status if the Ravens donā€™t make a move.

Few Monday night games have been more anticipated than tonightā€™s battle between the Jets and Bills and there are questions to be answered!

Will Aaron Rodgers look like the vintage version we saw as the NFLā€™s MVP or was last year in Green Bay a sign of his imminent decline?

How will the Jets use Dalvin Cook and Breece Hall together in their backfield? If Cook gets the lionā€™s share of work early this season, he could put up some monster points.

Can Garrett Wilson establish himself as a clear WR1 in fantasy leagues now that he has a capable quarterback throwing him the ball?

Will the rift between Stefon Diggs and the Bills linger into the season or are things truly in the past?

How will the Bills distribute the carries between their running backs? Will James Cook really be ā€œthe guy?ā€

Just how big of a deal is Dalton Kincaid?

We should get some answers tonight.
