I hope you have your elastic-waist pants ready for tomorrow and are excited for a solid day of football and food. In todayā€™s newsletter, Iā€™ll cover trade candidates, the best matchups for Week 12, and of course the happenings over at 4for4.

This is the last week Iā€™ll be doing the trade section since the majority of deadlines have passed or will be done after this week. Using 4for4ā€™s powerful trade evaluator tool, Iā€™ll highlight players to buy, sell, and hold, but be sure to head over and check it out yourself based on your specific roster settings.

Buys

šŸ¦… RB Dā€™Andre Swift

Managers may be trying to sell Swift after his 18.2 half-PPR outing on Monday night and feel free to take him off their hands. The former UGA RB is the lead back on a run-heavy offense behind one of the strongest offensive lines in the NFL. To make things even better, he faces the Giants and Cardinals in the fantasy playoffs, two of the poorest run defenses in the league.

Give up: A WR2 like D.J. Moore or Cooper Kupp

šŸ§² WR Michael Pittman

Quietly the WR16 in half-PPR scoring, Pittman is averaging a hearty 9.3 targets per contest and boasts a beautiful remaining schedule for WRs. The Colts next four games are against the Bucs, Titans, Bengals, and Steelers who rank 29th, 28th, 23rd, and 26th, respectively in aFPA to opposing wideouts. After a bye is a great time to try to make a deal.

Give up: An RB2 such as Brian Robinson or Raheem Mostert.

Sells

 šŸ† WR Calvin Ridley

Ridley finally had himself a game last week, posting a 7-103-2 line with one carry for 18 yards. The Jaguars are just too muddy to count on this production and Iā€™d rather have a more reliable WR or an upgrade at RB moving forward.

Look to Acquire: Iā€™d aim for an RB2 like Rhamondre Stevenson or James Cook, or swap WRs for Tyler Lockett or Courtland Sutton.

šŸ”µ RB Saquon Barkley

Heā€™s coming off a phenomenal game against the Commanders and is the only legitimate fantasy-relevant player the Giants have right now. Itā€™s the right time to sell Barkley as his schedule gets very tough moving forward and heā€™ll likely be game-scripted out of high volume against teams like the Saints, Eagles, and Rams.

Look to Acquire: A WR1 like Keenan Allen or Mike Evans.

Hold

  • RB James Cook

  • WR Marquise Brown

  • WR Jaā€™Marr Chase

  • RB Jerome Ford

  • WR Diontae Johnson

Schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed, or aFPA, is 4for4ā€™s answer to biased statistics. By removing bias, we can level the playing field and compare matchups in an "apples-to-apples" manner. This paints a more accurate picture for fantasy owners. By Week 4, we have a pretty good sample size to work from, but the data gets even more trustworthy as the season wears on. Once we hit Week 12, we'll start using rolling 10-week data so the numbers stay relevant.

Quarterbacks

 šŸŖŗ Lamar Jackson @ Chargers

The overall QB4 on the season, Jackson has another banger of a matchup this week in LA. The Chargers rank 31st in QB aFPA so far in 2023, yielding 20.4 fantasy points to the position weekly.

 šŸ† Trevor Lawrence @ Texans

Coming off a QB1 performance last week of 32.2 fantasy points, Lawrence is set up again for success on Sunday night. Heā€™ll face a Houston defensive unit that sits 30th in QB aFPA in 2023.

Running Backs

šŸ¶ Jerome Ford @ Broncos

Denver is dead-last at defending the rush this season, surrendering 31.3 in RB aFPA per contest through Week 11. Ford should have plenty of opportunity in the Mile High City on Sunday afternoon.

šŸ¬ Raheem Mostert vs Jets

Deā€™Von Achane suffered a setback last week and Mostert gets a juicy matchup against the Jets somewhat to himself if the rookie canā€™t go. New York is ranked 30th in RB aFPA which bodes well for Mostertā€™s potential this week.

Wide Receivers

šŸ§² Michael Pittman vs. Buccaneers

Pittman is fresh off the Coltsā€™ bye week and gets a non-rested Tampa Bay defense that is 29th in WR aFPA. Heā€™s 4for4ā€™s WR9 heading into this Week 12 matchup.

šŸ¤  CeeDee Lamb vs. Commanders

You need zero reasons to start Lamb this week and every week, but he does have a soft defense to go up against in the Commanders. Washington sits dead last in WR aFPA so far this season, surrendering 40.3 half-PPR points per contest to enemy WRs.

Tight Ends

šŸŖŗ Trey McBride vs. Rams

He gets a boost from Kyler Murray and a porous Rams defense. McBride should have a solid week against a defensive unit thatā€™s yielding the third most aFPA to TEs in 2023.

šŸ† Evan Engram @ Texans

Engram has the privilege of going up against the worst-ranked defense in TE aFPA on Sunday. Heā€™s the TE8 in half-PPR scoring in 4for4ā€™s rankings for this week and should bounce back after a few down performances.
