Here are some fantasy-relevant takeaways from the second week of the preseason as we get ready for upcoming drafts.
🐻 Caleb Williams appears as advertised: The rookie completed 6 of 13 passes for 75 yards which included a 45-yarder to fellow newbie Rome Udunze. That play set up a 7-yard TD scramble for Williams late in the second quarter. Right now he’s being drafted as the QB13 in the ninth round.
🧢 It was an ugly return for Daniel Jones: In his first action since a season-ending knee injury last year, Jones threw two picks, one of which was returned for a touchdown. Those two interceptions were part of five total turnovers for the Giants.
🐴 Bo Nix has earned himself an NFL starting gig: Denver HC Sean Payton has yet to name the rookie as the Week 1 starter, but the announcement should be imminent. Nix was 8-of-9 passing for 80 yards and a touchdown on Sunday night, putting his scoring drives led at six out of seven possessions this preseason so far.
🦬 The Buffalo RB room showed signs of life: After struggling the first week with only 73 total yards between five players, James Cook and presumed backup Ray Davis were both productive, as Cook saw seven touches for 31 yards, and Davis carried the ball eight times for 58 yards. Cook is a solid fantasy RB2 with an ADP of 39, while Davis is leaving boards as the RB57 with ADPs as early as the 14th round on Underdog, and as late as the 19th in Yahoo leagues.
🐻 We saw dual-threat action from Rome Odunze: On top of the 45-yard catch discussed earlier, Odunze also had a 16-yard run on an end-around to help set up a field goal to put the Bears up 3-0 in the second quarter. He’s the third Chicago WR selected across all sites, with an aggregate ADP of 91 as the WR41.
🧢 Malik Nabers’ hype train is still on the tracks: Nabers had four catches for 54 yards, and the rookie was targeted six times with one carry on 17 routes. It is the preseason so that 35% targets per route run is likely unsustainable but not surprisingly he’s looking like the alpha in the New York WR room. As a fantasy WR2, Nabors is the best value in CBS and NFL leagues where he’s leaving draft boards at spots 65 and 63 respectively. His multi-site ADP is currently 47.

Tyreek Hill was spotted with a brace on his right hand at Tuesday’s practice. But without any word from HC Mike McDaniel, who isn’t slotted to talk to the media until Wednesday at some point, we just have to wait and see how serious it is - if at all.
Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill is latest player dealing with minor injury. He wore a removable brace on right hand during practice today.
Hill was in uniform/helmet but I didn’t spot him catch a pass. Mike McDaniel has noted caution with many players to get/keep them healthy for season

Colts TE Jelani Woods is sadly out indefinitely with a turf toe injury. He was on track to possibly lead the Indy TE room and now we’re back to a guessing game with probably no fantasy-relevant answer.
#Colts TE Jelani Woods is expected to have surgery this week to repair his turf toe, sources say, and he’s out indefinitely.
A rough reality for Woods, who also missed 2023 with hamstring issues.

Juwan Johnson is back from the PUP list, baby! Why the exclamation mark, you ask? He’s one of my favorite late-round TEs for best ball leagues (ADP TE31) and many drafters have written him off for the season.
Juwan Johnson is back and moving as well as I’ve seen him. #Saints
