🏆 Super Bowl Fun Facts

Plus a unique prop

Welcome to a special Super Bowl episode of the Deep Dive Fantasy newsletter, filled with fun facts and other oddities. There’s also a prop bet for this week’s game.

The final weekend of NFL football is here, so we need to savor it all before we have to actually make plans and get out into the world on Sundays until the fall. I decided to look into some interesting Super Bowl facts and trivia to get everyone in the mood for this final battle between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks.

1. What Team Has the Most Super Bowl Appearances?

🎖️ Counting the upcoming contest, the New England Patriots have appeared in a whopping 12 NFL title games. (1986, 1997, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2008, 2012, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2026) The Steelers, Cowboys, Broncos, and 49ers tie for the second-most Super Bowl appearances, with eight.

2. Which Team has the Most Super Bowl Wins?

🍔 The Steelers and 🎖️ Patriots are currently tied with six wins apiece. San Francisco is right behind them with five Lombardi Trophies.

3. What Teams Have Never Played in a Super Bowl?

Four teams have yet to reach the big game, much to the chagrin of their loyal fan bases.

  • 🦁 Detroit Lions

  • 🐆 Jacksonville Jaguars

  • 🐶 Cleveland Browns

  • 🐂 Houston Texans

4. What City Has Hosted the Most Super Bowls?

It’s no surprise that sunny Miami and exciting and warm New Orleans have hosted the most Super Bowls throughout history, with 11.

5. How Many Super Bowl Rematches Have Taken Place?

We love a rematch or revenge game, and there have been nine instances, with this year's rematch of 2015’s championship making the 10th. Prior rematches include:

  • 🤠 Dallas Cowboys vs. 🍔 Pittsburgh Steelers

  • 🐬 Miami Dolphins vs. 🪖 Washington

  • ⛏️ San Francisco 49ers vs. 🐯 Cincinnati Bengals

  • 🤠 Dallas Cowboys vs. 🦬 Buffalo Bills

  • 🎖️ New England Patriots vs. 🧢 New York Giants

  • 🦅 Philadelphia Eagles vs. 🎖️ New England Patriots

  • 🎖️ New England Patriots vs. 🐏 LA Rams

  • ⛏️ San Francisco 49ers vs. ↠ Kansas City Chiefs

  • 🦅 Philadelphia Eagles vs. ↠ Kansas City Chiefs

6. Who Sang the Longest National Anthem?

Alicia Keyes belted out the anthem for two minutes and 36 seconds at the start of Super Bowl 47, which is the longest on record. On the flip side, Neil Diamond sang the shortest version at Super Bowl 21, which lasted just one minute and two seconds.

7. How Much Does the Lombardi Trophy Weigh?

The elusive Lombardi trophy is crafted each season by the famous jeweler Tiffany & Co. and is valued at $50,000. It weighs just seven pounds, so it is easily hoisted or tossed from boat to boat by a certain inebriated QB. 🏆

8. What’s the Coldest Super Bowl on Record?

As mentioned above, the big game usually takes place in warmer climates, or at least in an indoor venue. Super Bowl IV took place at Tulane Stadium in New Orleans in 1970, where temperatures were a cool 39 degrees. The Chiefs beat the Vikings 23-7 in that chilly title game.

9. What’s the Highest Scoring Super Bowl Contest?

The ⛏️ 49ers and⚡️Chargers combined for a whopping 75 total points in Super Bowl XXIX. Thanks to Steve Young and Jerry Rice, the Niners beat San Diego 49-26. (Also fun fact: I was there in person, way up in the second-to-last row of Joe Robbie Stadium.)

10. What’s the Average Price of a ticket to Super Bowl 60?

As of early February 2026, the cheapest single tickets for the game are roughly $4,557 to $5,045, with average resale prices ranging from $4,000 to $6,000.

11. Who Was the First Super Bowl Half-Time Singer?

Broadway star Carol Channing sang in 1970 during that frigid Super Bowl in Tulane Stadium. She wasn’t the main act, though, as the Southern University marching band performed a Mardi Gras tribute first, followed by Channing’s rendition of “When the Saints Go Marching In”.

12. Is There a Super Bowl Hangover?

16.1M people won’t be at work the day after the big game, which amounts to around $9.3B in lost productivity for companies. I think we can all agree it should be a National Holiday, but alas.

One of my favorite annual series at Dynasty League Football has kicked off, Rob Willette’s Devy 100. Even if you don’t play in devy dynasty leagues, this series is a great read to help you prepare for the college football season and eventually, important dynasty rookie drafts.

Rob started his countdown with the bottom tier of his 100 best devy players for the 2026 season, including some analysis of the Georgia Bulldogs’ starting quarterback…

98. Gunner Stockton, QB Georgia

Height: 6’1”

Weight: 215

Draft Eligible: 2027

Stats:

Summary: A stocky 6’1” and 215 pounds, Stockton is far from the most physically impressive quarterback. He has a big arm yet inconsistent mechanics, putting a cap on his upside within a Georgia offense that has at times been uninspired under Kirby Smart.

What Stockton does have in spades is intangibles. He is as tough as they come and uses his strength and instincts to be a strong runner. He ran in eight scores in 2025 and stepped up as a passer in games in which the Bulldogs really needed it, including big wins in the regular season over Ole Miss and Texas. The question with Stockton will be his ceiling, as the tools may add up to more of a high-end backup or bridge starter, a profile that still has value in superflex leagues yet is not an exciting outcome. Stockton’s return to Georgia gives him another year of experience and one last shot to build his draft stock.

2026 Outlook: While not a favorite, Stockton has good odds to hoist 2026’s Heisman trophy. He will need to show growth as a passer with an entirely new set of weapons on the perimeter, as only London Humphreys returns as a receiver who made notable contributions in 2025. If he can thrive with a new supporting cast, it will go a long way to solidifying him as a genuine NFL prospect.

Here is 4for4’s Connor Allen with a fun prop for Super Bowl 60.

Rhamondre Stevenson longest rush u12.5 (13.5 -115 DK, Fliff, Builder 12.5 fine as well

The Seahawks defense has faced 390 running back carries this year and allowed a 13+ yard run on just 7 of them (1.7%), by far the fewest in the NFL. They are an elite unit that has allowed the fewest YPC to opposing runners all season and are elite in virtually every run-defense metric. Rhamondre had a good season and was relatively explosive, seeing 7.69% of his runs go for 13+ yards. If it were a neutral matchup, based on this season, we would expect a long run once every 13 carries. However, when you factor in the Seahawks' ability to prevent long runs, this becomes pretty +ev. I'm also not convinced he dominates work like he did last week.

He and Treveyon Henderson have split work in the backfield for most of the season. Rhamondre out-carried him 25-to-3 in the last round; however, just the week prior, he had 16 carries to Treveyon's 12, and just 10-to-9 the week prior, both in the playoffs. I think Rhamondre was likely just the better option for the snow and getting what was asked of him. They knew there was basically no chance of a massive play anyway in the conditions. This isn't necessarily a volume bet, but the fewer opportunities for Stevenson, the better. I also expect the Pats to skew a bit pass-heavier than most of their other games.
