🍗 The Kicker Edition
and some NFL news!
In today’s newsletter, I show kickers some much-needed love because, as the saying goes, they are people too. I also give a little NFL news along with the latest articles to drop at 4for4.

I know, why dedicate a whole newsletter to kickers? Well, it’s because I like them, and they are a great way to find an edge in fantasy football. For those who have read my work for a while, you probably know that I prefer to stream kicker from week to week based on matchups.
But it’s not for everyone, so here are the best and worst kickers for 2025 based on the same metrics I use weekly during the season.
Top Tier Kickers, 2025
Player | Team | Games Favored by 5+ Pts | Games With Team Totals Over 25 Pts |
---|---|---|---|
Tyler Bass | Bills | 11 | 15 |
Tyler Loop | Ravens | 10 | 15 |
Wil Lutz | Broncos | 5 | 6 |
Chase McLaughlin | Buccaneers | 5 | 8 |
Harrison Butker | Chiefs | 7 | 12 |
Jake Elliott | Eagles | 5 | 10 |
Jake Moody | 49ers | 5 | 8 |

The Bills are favored by five or more points in 11-of-17 games this season and boast a team total of 25 points or higher in 15 of those contests, leading the NFL in both categories. Buffalo is picked to win every single game in 2025, creating plenty of opportunity for Tyler Bass to do his thing for fantasy rosters.
The Justin Tucker era is over in Baltimore, and Tyler Loop inherits a likely fruitful situation for fantasy managers. The Ravens have a whopping 10 contests where they are projected to win by more than five, and two of those are at least 11.5 spreads. There are only four games all season where Baltimore is not expected to score more than 25 points, making Loop an easy add during draft time.
Wil Lutz was a top 10 fantasy leg last season, and with a likely jump in production for Denver as a whole, he's sitting pretty again in 2025. Denver has a later bye week (12), and they are projected to win eight of their first 10 contests, half of those by more than five points. The Buccaneers have five games with spreads over five points, with three of those expected to be a touchdown or more. Chase McLaughlin was K6 on the season in 2024, and the Tampa Bay offense gained even more firepower this offseason to likely hit those eight estimated tilts of 25+ points.
The remaining three kickers on this list are perennially at the top as part of solid-performing offenses and should all be drafted accordingly.
The Worst Legs for 2025
Player | Team | Games Projected to Lose by 5+ Pts | Games Team Total < 20 Pts |
---|---|---|---|
Dustin Hopkins | CLE | 12 | 14 |
Blake Grupe | NO | 9 | 9 |
Graham Gano | NYG | 7 | 8 |
Nick Folk/Harrison Mevis | NYJ | 8 | 9 |
The Browns are projected to lose all but one game in 2025, with seven of those featuring a spread of more than a touchdown. Dustin Hopkins' team has the lowest calculated team total in the league (300.75) and is not projected to put enough points on the board to warrant fantasy consideration, as a whopping 14 of those games boast team totals of fewer than 20 points.
While Blake Grupe has been a fantasy asset more in the streaming realm in his first two seasons in the NFL, things don't look so positive for him in 2025. New Orleans is tied with the Browns and Giants in the very-little-win boat parade with one estimated victory and the second-lowest team total projection in the NFL of 312.75. The Saints have five games with a spread of over a touchdown, including one massive 12.5-point projected loss to the Bills in Week 4, the highest of any spread in 2025. Adding points to fantasy rosters is tough when your offense isn't moving the chains.
My condolences, Giants fans, but it's likely going to be a rough season in the victory department. Right now, New York is projected to lose all but one tilt in 2025, which is a Week 5 pick'em against the Saints. Their team total on the season is a meager 313.75, with eight games boasting totals under 20 points. Graham Gano may have a few good weeks, but he's not on the fantasy radar heading into draft season.
The Jets released Caden Davis and signed Nick Folk on July 28th to compete with 243-lb Harrison Mevis, who boasts the incredible nickname "Thiccer Kicker". It's no secret who I'm rooting for to win that gig. New York isn't projected to have a very high-scoring season, as they currently sit 29th in projected team totals with 317.75, and have seven contests with a spread of more than a touchdown.

This one goes way back to August 1977. Here we have some Atlanta Falcons players running during training camp at Furman University in Greenville, SC. I wouldn’t want to run into this group on or off the field, to be honest. I’m sure they are all wonderful men, but something about those early NFL photos evokes a meaness/toughness that isn’t as present today.

It appears Isaiah Likely has a foot fracture, so adjust those ranks, folks. Well, not by too much, as he could be back by Week 1. Or possibly not.
#Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely suffered a small foot fracture during Tuesday’s practice, sources told @jamisonhensley and me. If all goes well, it’s an early season return and Week 1 is possible.

Today I learned that Trey Lance is still in the NFL. It appears he’ll battle Taylor Heinicke to make that final 53-man roster and backup Justin Herbert.
