🔥Tuesday Morning Fantasy Football Recap
Week 14 Brought the End of the Fantasy Regular Season and Some Disappointing Performances
Imagine you need a win to make it to the fantasy football playoffs for your league, and you feel confident because you are starting Jalen Hurts, Kenneth Walker, Romeo Doubs, and Travis Kelce in four of your lineup spots. Sounds like a decent start, right?
Well, these four combined for about one point in half-PPR formats this week. Jalen Hurts was the Least Valuable Player of the week, as every fantasy team would have scored more points if they just left their quarterback spot empty.
The Deep Dive Fantasy Newsletter will hit your inbox every Tuesday morning this season, and I will bring you the highlights, waiver wire thoughts, streaming options, and injury reports, all right here in one place.

Waiver Wire Additions for Week 15
Bryce Young has scored over 22 fantasy points in two of his last three healthy games, and his team is in a tight race for the NFC South. He faces a New Orleans Saints defense that he previously struggled against the first time around, but the overall potential for a high-scoring game and a solid performance make him an intriguing play if you need a quarterback for your playoff matchup. Young hashad two massive games in his last three starts.
Blake Corum has transitioned from merely a handcuff to a viable flex option in all fantasy formats. The Rams are utilizing a near-even timeshare with Kyren Williams, and Corum has scored three touchdowns in his last two games, including a career-high 128 rushing yards and two touchdowns in Week 14. While the Week 15 matchup against the Lions is tough, the volume and his role in a strong offense give him significant upside.
Chris Rodriguez Jr. is the clear lead back in Washington and is a great waiver wire target due to a favorable schedule. Although his fantasy ceiling is capped by a lack of involvement in the passing game, his value as the goal-line back is high, especially this week against the New York Giants, who allow the third-most fantasy points per game to running backs.
Luther Burden III is moving into a more prominent role with Rome Odunze out for several weeks with a foot stress fracture. He has seen five or more targets in each of his last four games, and his big-play ability offers touchdown upside. He is a worthwhile addition in any league or for fantasy managers needing help at wide receiver during the playoffs.
Ryan Flournoy might be the top waiver wire priority because of a potential starting role. CeeDee Lamb exited the Week 14 game with a concussion, and Flournoy immediately stepped in, commanding a team-high 13 targets and finishing with 9 catches for 115 yards and a touchdown. If Lamb misses any time, Flournoy would be a very high-upside play in Dallas's potent passing offense with a decent matchup against the Vikings in Week 15.
Harold Fannin Jr. has been playing very well lately. Over the last three weeks, with David Njoku injured and Shedeur Sanders at quarterback, Fannin’s playing time has increased, and he has been the TE4 during that span. Njoku hurt his knee on Sunday, which could only elevate Fannin’s projection even more. He is coming off an eight-catch, 114-yard, one-touchdown performance against Tennessee.

Who to Stream in Week 15
J.J. McCarthy is a terrifying name to recommend. He has been so bad at times this season that he was unwatchable. He has rendered Justin Jefferson useless lately. However, he balled out last week and now gets the Dallas Cowboys in the first round of the playoffs. This is not for the faint of heart, but rather for the desperate manager who needs a quarterback who could have a high ceiling.
Marcus Mariota is back in our lives after Jayden Daniels hurt his left elbow again. Playing Daniels again this season would just be malpractice at this point. The last time we saw Marcus Mariota, he put up two touchdowns against the Denver Broncos’ defense on that Sunday night classic. He gets the New York Giants, a much easier test this time.
Mason Taylor might need to be on your radar. One sneaky thing about the miserable New York Jets game on Sunday is what we saw from Brady Cook’s tendencies after Tyrod Taylor left the game. He heavily targeted tight end Mason Taylor as his security blanket. Taylor had eight targets for five receptions and 51 yards in the game.
Mike Gisecki is coming off his best game of the season. Joe Burrow found him for six catches, 86 yards, and a touchdown. Tee Higgins is back in concussion protocol, which could open up huge opportunity for the Bengals’ tight end in the fantasy football playoffs.
Fantasy Football Injuries to Monitor
Daniel Jones is feared to have a torn Achilles tendon he suffered in a non-contact injury against the Jacksonville Jaguars. It was always a risk to have him out there playing on a broken leg, and now his recovery will be much, much longer as he has surgery to repair it and then faces a long rehab.
Jayden Daniels’ comeback from a left elbow injury lasted all of about half a game. Daniels had 79 passing yards and 16 rushing yards with no scores before injuring the elbow again. With the Commanders now 3-10, don’t expect to see Jayden Daniels again this season. Playing him again this year would be egregious.
Geno Smith had multiple injuries entering the game on Sunday and left with a new one – a right shoulder injury that took him out of the game completely. With the Raiders completely out of contention, we have to wonder if Kenny Pickett takes over the rest of the season. We should know more about Smith’s shoulder injury early this week.
De'Von Achane exited in the second quarter of his game when he already had 17 fantasy points because he had a rib issue. The Dolphins were blowing out the Jets, and coach Mike McDaniel said Achane could have come back in in an emergency, so hopefully that means good news for his availability in the first round of the fantasy playoffs.
David Njoku caught one pass for one yard and one touchdown, but then injured his knee on the play. He went back and forth from the locker room and the medical tent, but never came back in the game. This looks like a role that’s going exclusively to Harold Fannin Jr. now.
Zach Ertz tore his ACL this week, which means his season, and perhaps his career, is likely over. He caught one pass for 11 yards before exiting. This is the latest in a long string of injuries for Washington, and they should have confirmation about the diagnosis by Monday.
Darnell Washington’s head hit the ground at the end of a catch in the first quarter against Baltimore. He was helped to the locker room, where he was evaluated for a concussion and quickly ruled out. Jonnu Smith and Pat Freiermuth will likely see more snaps and pass routes with Washington sidelined if it extends into Week 15.
