🔥Tuesday Morning Fantasy Football Recap
Week 12 Brought Big Fantasy Scores From Expected and Unexpected Places
Congratulations on your win last week if you played Jahmyr Gibbs, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and … Jamies Winston?! In a fantasy football week that had a little bit of everything, Winston winning the week at quarterback against the Detroit Lions wasn’t on my bingo card.
Fortunately, Week 12 didn’t have nearly the number of injuries as Week 11, but there are still a few pieces of major news to dig into as we head into the Thanksgiving slate of games and an intriguing Week 13.
The Deep Dive Fantasy Newsletter will hit your inbox every Tuesday morning this season, and I will bring you the highlights, waiver wire thoughts, streaming options, and injury reports, all right here in one place.

Waiver Wire Additions for Week 13
Devin Neal is the priority running back addition for Week 13, with Alvin Kamara going down with a knee sprain. After he went down, Neal played on 74% of snaps and touched the ball 12 times, which were both easily season-highs for the rookie out of Kansas. Neal has an easy running back schedule ahead, and the pass-catching ability we covet from running backs (five catches for 43 yards in Week 12).
Chris Rodriguez Jr. is coming off a bye and might not get the momentum he normally would if he had played in Week 12. But in his three games before the Commanders’ week off, Rodriguez cemented himself as the lead back in this offense. He has at least a touchdown or 65 yards in each of those three games, and is averaging 4.7 yards per carry on the season.
Jayden Higgins has at least seven targets in four of his last five games and is emerging as a clear WR2 option for the Houston Texans. Last week, Higgins caught four balls for 38 yards and a touchdown, and it was his third straight game with at least four receptions. He should continue his ascent, no matter whether it is Davis Mills or C.J. Stroud at quarterback.
Chimere Dike is almost the last wide receiver standing on the Titans, with Calvin Ridley out for the year and Elic Ayomanor dealing with a hamstring injury. Dike compiled five catches for 44 yards and a touchdown on Sunday as Cam Ward finally delivered a strong performance. If those can continue and Dike is his top target, this is an easy WR3/Flex to grab for your roster.
Colston Loveland scored his first touchdown on Sunday since his massive 118-yard, two-touchdown game against the Bengals last month. He has been producing steadily for an ascending Chicago Bears’ offense and has at least 40 yards in his last three games. In that span, Loveland is a top twelve tight end.

Who to Stream in Week 13
Trevor Lawrence might have thrown three interceptions on Sunday, but he also threw for three touchdowns, passed for 256 yards, and ran for another 29 more. Lawrence is prone to some mistakes, but he is in the middle of a stretch of games where he should put up very serviceable fantasy football numbers. The Tennessee Titans, Lawrence’s next opponent, allow over 17 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks.
Tyler Shough has not done much to show he is a strong fantasy football asset so far, but his matchup in Week 13 is a great one for his skill set. The Miami Dolphins allow the seventh-most fantasy points to the quarterback position, and have only intercepted three passes this season. That cuts down on Shough’s inaccuracy issues. The Dolphins also allow the second-most rushing yards to quarterbacks, and we saw Shough rush seven times last week, with Alvin Kamara leaving with an injury.
Brenton Strange came back from an injury to immediately grab five passes for 93 yards on Sunday. That kind of volume and usage from a team that’s going to pass a lot immediately puts him in the streaming category, especially against a weak defense like the Tennessee Titans. Strange played 71% of snaps in Week 12.
Harold Fannin Jr. had six targets in Week 12, with David Njoku missing the Browns’ game. Njoku is likely gone after this season, so I expect Fannin and Shedur Sanders to try and see if they can develop some connection in the passing game over the last six games of the season. He gets the San Francisco 49ers next, who have allowed seven touchdowns to tight ends this season.
Fantasy Football Injuries to Monitor
Baker Mayfield suffered a left shoulder injury in the first half of Sunday Night Football. While he finished the first half, he did not return in the second half and had his arm in a sling while Teddy Bridgewater took over at quarterback. Mayfield’s test results revealed a shoulder strain that could keep him out for a week or two.
Tee Higgins suffered what appeared to be a serious concussion on Sunday afternoon. He was down for several minutes before finally walking off on his own. He did not return to the game and now has a very steep hill to climb if he wants to be ready for Thanksgiving Thursday Night Football against the Ravens.
Alvin Kamara left the game against Atlanta after only five touches and did not return. It was reported after the game that he suffered an MCL sprain in his knee. He is likely to miss at least one week with this news, but at least it appears he avoided major injury.
Ashton Jeanty got his ankle twisted up on him in the second half of the Raiders’ game against the Cleveland Browns. There is speculation that this might be a high ankle sprain, but it is really too early to tell. Jeanty was able to rack up 25 touches and 108 total yards in the game.
Rashee Rice suffered some kind of hamstring injury late in the game against the Indianapolis Colts. Many have said it was just cramps, and he would have been out there in any kind of playoff game. Monitor his projected practice reports this week, since the Chiefs play on Thanksgiving.
