🔥Tuesday Morning Fantasy Football Recap

Week 6 Saw Elite Wide Receivers Get Injured Plus Several Offensive Explosions

If you have an elite wide receiver that has been carrying your fantasy football team, double-check to make sure they made it out of Week 6 unscathed. It was a rough week for several top wideouts, as we will see below. But in the midst of all the injuries, 12 teams scored at least 25 points this week, including the two games played through the Monday Night Football doubleheader. That led to a lot of big fantasy scores, including from some players who will make nice waiver wire additions this week.

The Deep Dive Fantasy Newsletter will hit your inbox every Tuesday morning this season, and I will bring you the highlights, waiver wire thoughts, streaming options, and injury reports, all right here in one place.

Waiver Wire Additions for Week 7

If Jaxson Dart can produce like he did in Week 6 against the Eagles and without Malik Nabers, the sky is the limit for the talented rookie. Dart threw for 195 yards, one touchdown, no interceptions, and ran for another 58 yards and a score. It was his third straight game with at least 54 rushing yards, and he has six total touchdowns in three starts.

Kimani Vidal completely outpaced teammate Hassan Haskins by rushing for 124 yards, catching 14 yards, plus a receiving touchdown. Vidal played on a full two-thirds of the Chargers’ offensive snaps, and Haskins finished the game with only seven touches and 23 total yards.

Zonovan Knight is the man they call "Bam” and he delivered with 12 touches, 54 total yards, and a touchdown after it was declared he would start in place of Michael Carter in Week 6. Carter still had nine touches for 64 yards on his own, but Knight played more and was the man at the goal-line for the Arizona Cardinals.

Kayshon Boutte caught Drake Maye’s eye for multiple scores this week. Now the Patriots get to play the horrific Tennessee Titans and their porous defense. Boutte’s final line last week was five catches for 93 yards and two touchdowns. Boutte also led the team in targets in Week 6.

Kendrick Bourne dominated even with Jauan Jennings returning to action in Week 6. He caught multiple long bombs from Mac Jones and ended the day with five receptions for 142 yards, the same total he had in Week 5 against the Rams. Jauan Jennings, Ricky Pearsall, and George Kittle are still banged up, and Bourne has at least one big usage week left.

Harold Fannin Jr. benefited from teammate David Njoku leaving Sunday’s game multiple times with a knee injury. It allowed Fannin to catch seven passes for 81 yards this week. Njoku’s status with his knee is uncertain as of this writing, but it’s possible the Browns sit him for a week or two since their bye week is less than two weeks away. Fannin would be a target monster if that happened.

Who to Stream in Week 7

Aaron Rodgers now gets a date with the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 7, and it’s hard to ignore the production he has had in his first week with Pittsburgh. He has at least two passing touchdowns in three of five games this season, and Jordan Love and Bo Nix have roasted the Bengals through the air in back-to-back weeks.

Mac Jones has at least 340 passing yards in his past two games and at least 275 passing yards in his last four starts for San Francisco. He now gets a home date against the Atlanta Falcons, and some of his primary offensive weapons might get to return in Week 7. With Fred Warner out for the season, expect a shootout here in the game ahead.

Cade Otton is one of the last receivers standing after injuries to Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Emeka Egbuka, and Jalen McMillan. With the backup wideouts likely playing in Week 7, Otton could easily deliver top-12 upside for Tampa Bay. He has nine catches and 132 yards in his last two games.

Michael Mayer also benefits from injury news on his team. Brock Bowers is likely out another week for the Las Vegas Raiders. Mayer just posted five receptions for 50 yards and a touchdown in Week 6, and he led the team with seven targets.

Fantasy Football Injuries to Monitor

Marvin Harrison Jr. was ruled out of Sunday’s game with a concussion after hitting his head on the turf in the second quarter. Harrison will now have to go through the concussion protocol in order to be able to play in Week 7. In his absence, Zay Jones would be the beneficiary.

Puka Nacua made the entire fantasy football world hold its collective breath during the Los Angeles Rams game on Sunday. Puka Nacua left with an ankle injury, and while he tried to go back in, he was eventually ruled out for the game that the Rams won. The team should provide more feedback on the severity just as soon as they can this week, and coach Sean McVey said Monday that Nacua is “day to day.”

Following the London game, it was first reported that Garrett Wilson suffered a hip injury, but that was later changed to a knee injury. Wilson will apparently have an MRI on his knee, although the team does not believe it is an ACL injury. With the team flying back home, we have just found out that it might be a few weeks that Wilson misses. Thoughts and prayers for the New York Jets offense. Yikes.

Calvin Ridley was quickly ruled out after suffering a hamstring injury against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. After the game, Coach Brian Callahan said Ridley could not run or move well on his leg, and it was wrapped for the rest of the game. Now we wait and see if this will be a multi-week absence or if Ridley can recover for Week 7.

Emeka Egbuka also suffered a hamstring injury on Sunday that forced him out of the game after just two catches for 24 yards. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are already dealing with injuries to Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Jalen McMillan, and now wait to find out if their prized rookie receiver will miss more time.

Jauan Jennings admitted on Sunday that he is playing with five (FIVE!) broken ribs as well as high and low ankle sprains. Knowing that and seeing how Jennings caught one ball for seven yards in the San Francisco offense, I would be fine dropping him in shallow leagues for better, more consistent names on the bench.
