🔥Tuesday Morning Fantasy Football Recap
Week 7 Saw Even More Star Wide Receivers Get Injured, Plus a Quarterback Battle for the Ages in Denver
How maddening can fantasy football be week to week, or even game to game? If you started Bo Nix in Week 7, you felt the full spectrum of emotions. At halftime against the New York Giants, Nix had just 3.94 fantasy points. By the end of the game, he had 10 times that many with 39.96, the highest output of any player this season. He had 218 total yards and four total scores just in the fourth quarter.
The Deep Dive Fantasy Newsletter will hit your inbox every Tuesday morning this season, and I will bring you the highlights, waiver wire thoughts, streaming options, and injury reports, all right here in one place.

Waiver Wire Additions for Week 8
Jaxson Dart is still rostered is fewer than 45% of Yahoo leagues, but that’s about to change. For about 2.5 hours, it looked like he was going to be the fantasy hero of the day. Going into a vicious road environment, the rookie Dart threw for 283 yards and three touchdowns of his own, while also adding another rushing touchdown. This was the first start that he did not run for at least 50 yards, but if he is going to be throwing these dimes to players like Theo Johnson and Daniel Bellinger, Dart is going to rise up the quarterback rankings very quickly.
Kyle Monangai had his biggest role of the season on Sunday, even with D’Andre Swift putting up 138 yards and a touchdown on 20 touches. Monangai handled the ball 15 times against the New Orleans Saints, accumulating 15 touches, 98 yards, and a touchdown. Most importantly, he played on 45% of snaps.
Brashard Smith might have been the beneficiary of a massive blowout, but he is starting to get more work. He played on a season-high 35% of snaps and had 19 touches for 81 total yards. In PPR leagues, he looks like a must-add with five receptions in this game.
Kayshon Boutte now has three receiving touchdowns in the last two games and is starting to emerge as the only reliable wide receiver option in fantasy football for the New England Patriots. The Patriots have a tough defense coming to town in the Cleveland Browns, but Boutte has now played the most snaps at wide receiver three weeks in a row.

Darnell Mooney came back from an injury and stepped right back into 83% of snaps. But he is a clear fourth option now behind Bijan Robinson, Kyle Pitts Sr., and Drake London. Those three combined for 28 targets, while Mooney had five targets, which he turned into three catches for 68 yards. Mooney gets a great matchup against Miami this week at home.
Oronde Gadsden II of the Los Angeles Chargers is now a lock to be the most popular player taken on the waiver wire during this Bye-pocalypse week coming up. He was Justin Herbert’s favorite target and finished the loss against the Colts with nine targets, seven receptions, 164 yards, and a touchdown. His 164 yards set a new rookie record for tight ends.

Who to Stream in Week 8
Michael Penix Jr. is a much better quarterback in the dome at home, and now gets a delightful matchup against the Miami Dolphins, who just allowed 31 points to Dillon Gabriel and the Cleveland Browns. The Dolphins have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season.
Aaron Rodgers showed he still has it in a back-and-forth shootout with the Cincinnati Bengals last week. The Green Bay Packers are a middle-of-the-pack team against quarterbacks this season, but have allowed 11 total touchdowns in six games.
With a Win on Sunday Aaron Rodgers can become the 5th Quarterback ever to beat all 32 NFL Teams

Colston Loveland should benefit if Cole Kmet misses time with his back injury. The Bears next play the Baltimore Ravens, who have a severely banged-up defense and are in the top ten for points allowed to tight ends this season. Loveland played a season-high 67% of snaps in Week 7.
Mason Taylor might be on the worst offense in football, but he could benefit if Tyrod Taylor takes over for Justin Fields this week. The New York Jets play the Cincinnati Bengals this week, and the Bengals just allowed a touchdown to THREE different tight ends when they played the Pittsburgh Steelers last week.
Fantasy Football Injuries to Monitor
Jayden Daniels left during the second half of the game against the Dallas Cowboys with a hamstring injury and did not return. The team has announced that Daniels will undergo an MRI and that the injury isn’t believed to be serious. However, fantasy managers should start preparing for the possibility that Daniels will miss some time moving forward.
Bryce Young’s ankle got twisted during a sack in the third quarter, and he was ruled out for the rest of the game, while backup Andy Dalton filled in. No updates came on Sunday night about the severity of the injury, so the team should announce something on Monday or Tuesday.
Brian Thomas Jr. has several videos going around from the Jacksonville game in London, where it appears he seems to be grabbing at his right shoulder. This is the same shoulder that he dislocated in college and has given him trouble this year. Being overseas, it might be a day or two before we hear any more definitive news.
Darren Waller caught an awful stroke of bad luck on Sunday as he left the game against Cleveland with a pectoral injury. The only comments have come from his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, who speculated that if this is a worst-case torn pectoral, it would be a season-ending injury. Waller had become an essential part of the Miami offense, and now he might be sidelined indefinitely.
Mike Evans left Monday Night Football with what has been diagnosed as a broken collarbone. He will miss most of the rest of the season, and it appears - based on the past two weeks - that Tez Johnson is the next man up to start alongside Emeke Egbuka.
The initial timeline for #Bucs WR Mike Evans’ broken clavicle injury is 6–8 weeks, per sources.
There’s hope he’ll be able to return before the end of the season.

Dontayvion Wicks was Questionable heading into Week 7 with an ankle injury, but apparently, it got the best of him sometime during the game. He finished the game with just one catch for five yards before being officially ruled out.
Another Monday night injury that occurred was Nico Collins leaving the game with a concussion. He did not return, and with the injury happening so late, it will be a day or two before we hear about any progress. Collins will have to pass concussion protocol to be able to play in Week 8.
