🛒 Week 10 Fantasy Football Buys & Sells

Fantasy Marketplace and Some Good Matchups

It’s Hump Day 🐪 in Week 10. In today’s newsletter, I cover some trade candidates, the best matchups for Week 10, and of course the happenings over at 4for4.

Using 4for4’s powerful trade evaluator tool, I’ll highlight players to buy, sell, and hold each week, but be sure to head over and check it out yourself based on your specific roster settings.

Buys

🧀 RB Aaron Jones

He’s finally healthy and good things happened for both Jones and the Packers. The 28-year-old had 24 touches (third among RBs) which he turned into 99 total yards and a touchdown, plus Green Bay broke a four-game losing streak. He may not be a buy-low candidate but Jones is a guy who can help you win down the stretch.

Give up: A WR2 like Terry McLaurin or Garrett Wilson

🐏 WR Puka Nacua

It was a rough go for all Rams with Brett Rypien under center last week but the team subsequently added veteran Carson Wentz, plus Matthew Stafford should be back after the team’s Week 10 bye. Nacua is a super-talented rookie who is likely acquired cheaper than teammate Cooper Kupp.

Give up: An RB2 such as Joe Mixon or Raheem Mostert.

Sells

🐂 WR Nico Collins

The Texans’ offense is proving to have plenty of weapons and Collins appeared to be the odd man out on a day when C.J. Stroud threw for 470 yards and five touchdowns on 42 attempts. Dalton Schultz and Tank Dell each saw 11 targets to just four for Collins. The volume may even out, or it may not, but I prefer the rookie (Dell) to come on hot for the rest of the season.

Look to Acquire: I’d aim for an RB2 like Isiah Pacheco or Aaron Jones.

 🐈‍⬛ RB Chuba Hubbard

He seems to have stolen the starting job from Miles Sanders (for now), but Hubbard may have a tough go the rest of the season based on the ineffectiveness of the Carolina offense. Sanders also has the potential to creep back in as he gets healthier. Sell Hubbard now before they’re back to more of a committee.

Look to Acquire: A WR3 like Tank Dell or Marquise Brown.

Hold

  • RB Bijan Robinson

  • WR D.J. Moore

  • WR George Pickens

  • WR Marquise Brown

  • RB Gus Edwards

Schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed, or aFPA, is 4for4’s answer to biased statistics. By removing bias, we can level the playing field and compare matchups in an "apples-to-apples" manner. This paints a more accurate picture for fantasy owners. By Week 4, we have a pretty good sample size to work from, but the data gets even more trustworthy as the season wears on. Once we hit Week 12, we'll start using rolling 10-week data so the numbers stay relevant.

Quarterbacks

🦁 Jared Goff @ Chargers

Fresh off a restful bye, Goff gets a juicy matchup against a Chargers defensive unit that sits dead last in QB aFPA.

🪖 Sam Howell @ Seahawks

Howell has thrown for over 300 yards in back-to-back contests and gets another favorable outing this week. Seattle is allowing the eighth most aFPA to enemy QBs this season (17.6) and the Commanders have tightened up the o-line in recent weeks, keeping their QB cleaner than in prior contests.

Running Backs

🦬 James Cook vs. Broncos

Denver is surrendering the most fantasy points to opposing backfields this season (30.4 aFPA). The Bills are home and will be looking to bounce back from a tough loss to the Bengals in Week 9.

✈️ Breece Hall @ Raiders

He was set up for a fruitful outing on MNF, but Hall came up short. This week he’ll face a Las Vegas defense that sits 30th against the run this season, yielding 24.9 in half-PPR aFPA per tilt.

Wide Receivers

🛡️DeAndre Hopkins @ Buccaneers

Hopkins heads to Tampa Bay with a productive Will Levis tossing him the rock. The Bucs have been forgiving to opposing WRs in 2023, ranking 30th in aFPA to the position.

🏴‍☠️ Mike Evans vs Titans

On the other side of the ball, Evans should shine this week against a Titans secondary that ranks 28th in WR aFPA. He heads into this contest sitting as WR13 in half-PPR points per game.

Tight Ends

🦬 Dalton Kincaid vs. Broncos

Denver is giving up 12.3 in aFPA to TEs thus far in 2023 which ranks 29th among NFL defenses.

🐂 Dalton Schultz @ Bengals

C.J. Stroud is dialed in and Schultz will hopefully build on his season-high line of 10-130-1 from last week. The Bengals currently sit dead last in TE aFPA heading into Sunday’s contest.
