🥇 Week 10 Fantasy Football Ranks
Panthers vs. Bears on TNF - Meh
We’re looking at a true old-school TNF tonight with a matchup like the Panthers and Bears 🤢. Welcome to Thursday’s edition of the Deep Dive Fantasy Newsletter, where I’ll cover Week 10 ranks, a look ahead, the TNF matchup, and of course the happenings over at 4for4.
All rankings are based on half-PPR scoring. For full ranks in a variety of scoring formats, head to 4for4.com.
Quarterbacks
What stands out: Besides a few QBs reclaiming spots in the top 12 after their byes, Geno Smith makes an appearance after several weeks thanks to a favorable matchup at home against Washington. Russell Wilson slides in at QB12 with Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts, and Tua Tagovailoa all resting in Week 10.
Running Backs
What stands out: Both Tony Pollard and Ken Walker have returned after a one-week hiatus from RB1 territory and CMC is back to the highest-ranked RB in Week 10.
Wide Receivers
What stands out: Thanks to Miami and LA WRs off this week, we get some new faces with seats at the WR1 table. Join me in welcoming DeAndre Hopkins, Michael Pittman, and Terry McLaurin.
Tight Ends
What stands out: Dalton Schultz makes a seven-spot jump up to TE5 on the road in Cincy, while Kyle Pitts falls out of fantasy TE1 territory down to the 15th TE in this week’s ranks.
Staying ahead of league mates can be a difference-maker in fantasy football. Stashing players a week ahead for streaming or eventual bye-week fill-ins can give us that edge we all crave. Here are some players with either great Week 10 matchups, or they’re in the position for more volume based on injuries ahead of them.
🍔 Pat Freiermuth, TE - (PIT) The Pittsburgh TE is currently on the IR until Week 11, but he has a pretty juicy schedule leading up to and for the fantasy playoffs. Weeks 15-17 are against defensive units that sit 26th, 32nd, and 19th, respectively in aFPA to the TE position. Prior to that, Pat Freiermuth will take on the Bengals in Week 12 (also in Week 16), who are dead last in the metric.
🪺 Michael Wilson, WR - (ARI) Not only is Kyler Murray making his 2023 debut this week, but the Cardinals have a beautiful schedule down the stretch that could assist in your championship dreams. Arizona does have a later bye (Week 14) but from Week 13-Week 18 (if you play in one of those leagues), Michael Wilson will face four opposing defenses that rank 26th or worse in WR aFPA, yielding an average of 34.98 half-PPR points per contest to enemy WRs.
😈 Ty Chandler, RB - (MIN) Some of you may have drafted and dropped Ty Chandler heading into the season, but now may finally be his time to shine. Cam Akers’ season is done with an Achilles injury and it will likely be Chandler and Kene Nwangwu backing up an inconsistent and mostly inefficient Alexander Mattison. The Vikings could sign a random free agent, but for now, Chandler may be worth a stash.
This Panthers vs. Bears matchup is as ugly of a TNF as it gets, folks. However, some of you may have some fantasy pieces going due to bye-week issues so here are the ranks and projections.
Injury Report
🐈⬛ WR D.J. Chark (elbow) is doubtful.
