All of Week 10's Need-to-know Nuggets🏈

đŸ€«Start/Sit, Survivor, Bets and more

The Deep Dive Fantasy Newsletter is now coming to your inbox seven days a week throughout the NFL season, and I, Ryan Noonan, have the honor of being your Sunday morning MC.

We’ll tackle start/sits, DFS, Survivor pool strategy, and a bit of betting as well.

Before we jump into things, I have to tell you about this deal that we have going on right now.

I technically oversee the betting content on 4for4, but I’ve been overruled by the powers that be, and we’re basically giving it away for free right now.

Since we’re in Week 10, a subscription is already massively discounted- 50%, to be exact.

Well, right now, you can use the promo code “BETS50” and the 50% deal gets cut by another 50%.

That’s for the betting subscription only, but that includes EVERYTHING AT 4for4. Maybe you can’t bet legally in your state, but our subscriber-only discord has channels for all the Pick’em games out there as well. The Discord also gives you access to our entire staff, along with a passionate and bright, like-minded community of football (and more) enthusiasts. It’s the crown jewel of your subscription, in my opinion. All the season-long and DFS content, tools, rankings, and projections are included as well.

It feels like the season is winding down, but we still have a long way to go when you consider the NFL playoff season goes until early February. Oh, and we cover NBA betting extensively as well, along with other sports, as you can see in the picture above.

Head to 4for4.com/plans and take advantage of the new “BETS50” promo code today!

I love this ‘Watchability’ index from our friends over at SumerSports. We have another international game on the docket, with the Colts and Patriots in Germany. The early slate is anchored by the Niners and Jaguars matchup, and I love the juxtaposition of the Lions/Chargers and Giants/Cowboys afternoon meetings, with one nearly a 10.0 on the Watch Score and the other struggling to reach 0.50.

You can’t really stream running backs or wide receivers, but depending on your league’s size and settings, you can often stream quarterbacks, tight ends, and defenses.

I was informed that in 2023, people still play in fantasy leagues with kickers (working to confirm this), but in the meantime, we also have kicker streaming options as well.

My 4for4 teammates cover that for you here.

Our resident projection and rankings alpha, John Paulsen, will bring you his favorite Sneaky Starts & Sleepers each week. He’s pretty good at the whole rankings and projections thing, so it’s worth your time.

If you’re new here, I want to let you in on a little secret.

Giving start/sit advice without context in a newsletter is my own private hell.

I don’t know your league size, scoring, or anything about you.

Despite that, I’m still going to give you a few names that are worth your attention this morning since today’s the day.

Here are a few names that are start-worthy today:

Brock Purdy (QB, 49ers)

Brock Purdy has the league’s best passer rating against two-high safety zone looks, which Jacksonville is running at an increasingly high rate. Teams also skew pass-heavy against the Jaguars, passing at the highest situation-neutral rate (66%). With a healthy assortment of weapons for the first time in months, I love this spot for Purdy and the 49ers offense.

Jaylen Warren (RB, Steelers)

Warren has been incredibly efficient, and it’s becoming increasingly difficult to keep him off the field. He’s an especially strong start in PPR formats in this spot against the Packers.

Javonte Williams (RB, Broncos)

A messy three-man backfield has evolved into a bell-cow role for Javonte Williams. He’s handled 42 carries in the past two games, including 27 in Denver’s last game before the bye, good for a season-high 82% of the Broncos carries. Denver’s best chance against the Bills on Monday night is taking advantage of Buffalo’s depleted defense.

Noah Brown (WR, Texans)

Noah Brown’s back and healthy, and he erupted for 11 targets last week against the Buccaneers. Now with Nico Collins out for the Texans, there’s a cleaner path to Brown repeating last week’s success in what should be a pass-first game plan from the Texans against the Bengals.

Trenton Irwin (WR, Bengals)

Back in Week 5 with Tee Higgins out of the lineup, it was Trenton Irwin who emerged and feasted with a 10-target performance. Deeper league’s or those in trouble because of injuries or bye weeks should look to see if Irwin (or Titans’ Kyle Phillips) is available.

Taysom Hill (TE, Saints)

If Taysom Hill has tight end eligibility in your league, you should probably be starting him there every week. We never know how he’s going to get his touches, but it happens one way or another, and his touchdown equity is high because they love to use him in the red zone.

Now for the bad news. You might have to start these guys, but if you have decent options, I’d SIT ‘EM. This is more a group of players where I’m lower than the consensus is this week:

Deshaun Watson (QB, Browns)

The Ravens defense is one of the biggest surprises to me this season, and I’m avoiding them in fantasy whenever I can. They should have success pressuring Watson, who’s playing without his top-3 offensive tackles.

Kareem Hunt (RB, Browns)

Yup, I really don’t want to start any Browns if I don’t have to this week. With Jerome Ford at less than 100%, Kareem Hunt has had some startable weeks in the past month, but this isn’t one of them. T

Jakobi Meyers (WR, Raiders)

The early-season performance from Jakobi Meyers was nice while it lasted, but please don’t make start/sit decisions where you’re chasing previous weeks’ box scores. The situation is quite different in Las Vegas right now, and Meyers is unlikely to see the volume or efficiency that propelled him to early-season success.

Week 11

Bye’s continue with the Saints, Falcons, Colts, and Patriots taking a seat. There are some valuable fantasy assets in there, so why wait until next week and battle your league mates on the waiver wire? Get ahead of things now.

Each league is different, as it relates to both waiver wire rules and roster depth, so it’s difficult to make recommendations, but you should be using the time before your wire closes to look ahead because most of your league mates aren’t. Jen covers more of that here.

It’s a two-way street around here. You can’t add anyone without cutting someone else, but fear not; we cover that for you here in this week’s Dead Weight Report.

Survivor Strategy

Thanks to our friends at PoolGenius, we can easily use the “holy trinity” of analysis to make educated selections each week. Hopefully, some of you are still alive and fighting in Week 10.

The Holy Trinity Explained:

  • Win odds (how likely a team is to win, especially compared to other options)

  • Pick popularity (the percentage of opponents you expect to pick that team)

  • Future value (how useful that team should be as a future week pick)

Following this methodology, the top options on the board this week are the Cowboys, Bills, Lions, and Seahawks.

Of course, we cover more than just traditional fantasy at 4for4. Our DFS team is second to none, so if you’re playing on DraftKings or FanDuel, we can help.

TJ, Daigle, and weekly guest Pat Kerrane will hold your hand through lineup construction, picks, values, and weekly game theory on our DFS flagship show, DFS MVP. Subscribe so you don’t miss it.

The DFS MVP Podcast Watch | Listen

As you saw at the top, we also cover betting extensively as well. That’s mostly where you’ll find me, in case you miss me every non-Sunday because you’ve made it to the bottom of this newsletter, so clearly, we’re vibing.

Along with tons of written content, we also do two weekly betting shows, one on Wednesday afternoons to break down our favorite games of the week and another on Friday afternoons to discuss our favorite player prop bets of the week. That show is called “PROP DROP”.

New subscribers can go to 4for4.com/plans to learn more! We’ve discounted the subscription since we’re now in Week 10, plus promo code “BETS50” will save you an extra 50%! Less than $65 for everything at 4for4!!!

Jets @ Raiders

More Jets and Raiders in primetime!! Can you feel it?!?!

In these moments, I try to practice gratitude and remember that we had a bunch of months without any sports just a few short years ago, so
perspective is important.

If you’re looking to play single-game DFS, Matt has you covered for this one.
