The Saints go marching into LA tonight with both teams 7-7. Welcome to Thursday’s edition of the Deep Dive Fantasy Newsletter, where I’ll cover Week 16 ranks, preview the TNF matchup, and of course the happenings over at 4for4.

Quarterbacks

What stands out: Both Sam Howell and Russell Wilson fall back into fantasy QB2 territory after a one-week jump, while Baker Mayfield’s contest against the Jaguars 26th ranked unit in QB aFPA lands him a QB11 ranking this week.

Running Backs

What stands out: We have a pretty big shake-up at RB this week compared to Week 15’s ranks. Over half of the top 12 rushers are different which couldn’t come at a worse time in the fantasy season, adding to the already stressful mental gymnastics of setting lineups. Out are Zack Moss (out), Saquon Barkley (RB19), Derrick Henry (RB13), Austin Ekeler (RB30), Jahmyr Gibbs (RB14), Javonte Williams (RB27), and Zeke Elliott (RB23). They’re replaced by James Cook, Jonathan Taylor, Isiah Pacheco, Ken Walker, Tony Pollard, Ty Chandler, and Raheem Mostert.

Wide Receivers

What stands out: Ja’Marr Chase is out due to a shoulder injury and Michael Pittman is currently in concussion protocol. In their place at the top, we find DK Metcalf courtesy of a soft Titans secondary, along with Rashee Rice who is coming on hot to end the season.

Tight Ends

What stands out: Darren Waller is back in TE1 territory following a stint on IR due to a hamstring injury. He’s joined by Cole Kmet who is the TE8 this week against Arizona. Taysom Hill slides down to TE14, and also out is Dalton Kincaid (TE13) who is losing volume with the Bills’ new run-heavy approach.
