⭐️ Week 3 Ranks

Rankings and A Look Ahead

In partnership with

Pats vs. Jets? We’ll take it. Welcome to Thursday’s edition of the Deep Dive Fantasy Newsletter, where I’ll cover Week 3 ranks, a look ahead, the TNF matchup, and of course the happenings over at 4for4.

All rankings are based on half-PPR scoring. For full ranks in a variety of scoring formats, head to 4for4.com.

Quarterbacks

What stands out: Joe Burrow is back not only in the top 12 but as the QB4 this week courtesy of a favorable matchup at home against Washington.

Running Backs

What stands out: Injuries caused some major shifts in the RB1 category this week. Christian McCaffrey, Isiah Pacheco, and Kenneth Walker are all out, with Alvin Kamara, Jordan Mason, James Cook, and Tony Pollard joining the top of the pack. Kyren Williams falls to RB13 with James Conner at RB15.

Wide Receivers

What stands out: The WR ranks have been put in a snow globe and shaken for Week 3. Ja’Marr Chase was out of the top 12 last week and is the WR2 versus the Commanders. Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle are out due to their QB suffering a concussion, while A.J. Brown’s doubtful status with a hamstring issue shoots DeVonta Smith up to WR4. Rookie Marvin Harrison Jr. redeemed himself last week and is now back as a top option against Detroit, with Mike Evans and Brandon Aiyuk now rounding out the fantasy WR1 ranks.

Tight Ends

What stands out: George Kittle gets top honors after a TE4 ranking in Week 2. Rookie Brock Bowers joins fantasy TE1 status after two solid weeks of volume and production and is joined by Mike Gesicki who may be here for the first time in his career. (no actual data was researched on this but it feels that way).

This cannabis startup pioneered “rapid onset” gummies

Most people prefer to smoke cannabis but that isn’t an option if you’re at work or in public.

That’s why we were so excited when we found out about Mood’s new Rapid Onset THC Gummies. They can take effect in as little as 5 minutes without the need for a lighter, lingering smells or any coughing.

Nobody will ever know you’re enjoying some THC.

We recommend you try them out because they offer a 100% money-back guarantee. And for a limited time, you can receive 20% off with code FIRST20.

It’s been a rough start to the season injury-wise, so here are some stashable players for those fantasy managers desperate for warm bodies.

🐂 Cam Akers, RB - Texans (8% rostered)

Joe Mixon has a firm grip on the lead-back role in Houston but missed some time in Week 2 due to an ankle injury, and his backup Dameon Pierce didn't dress thanks to a hamstring issue. Akers didn’t have a spectacular debut for the Texans with a late-fourth-quarter fumble on Sunday night, but he did rush for 32 yards on seven carries with one catch for three yards. If Mixon’s injury is limiting in any way, Akers could be a nice fill-in to get by.

🐏 Jordan Whittington, WR - Rams (5% rostered)

Demarcus Robinson and Tyler Johnson were both hot waiver adds last week after Puka Nacua left with a knee injury, but didn't really add much to rosters in Week 2. Now Cooper Kupp is dealing with an ankle injury which could open the door a bit more for Whittington. The rookie played just two snaps in Week 1 but flashed in a one-yard TD run that was wiped out due to a penalty, and then caught both of his targets for 22 yards last week.

The Rams are down bad, but with Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford in the mix, we have to think there’s still some life in this offense and Whittington could be a spark.

⛏️ Isaac Guerendo, RB - 49ers (4% rostered)

If you're somehow just returning to fantasy football now, Christian McCaffrey is on the IR until at least Week 7 with a calf/Achilles issue but could miss more time. Jordan Mason has posted 256 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns in the first two contests as the current RB1 for the 49ers with Guerendo presumably his backup. The rookie was dealing with his own injury issue (groin) and was able to suit up for both contests, but has yet to see any touches thus far. This add is purely a just-in-case situation if anything were to happen to Mason before CMC gets back on the field.

⚜️ Jamaal Williams, RB - Saints (7% rostered)

As part of a surprising-to-everyone high-scoring New Orleans offense, Williams has 19 rushes for 77 yards and a TD, with one catch for 13 yards across two contests. It’s been mostly garbage time in both blowouts, but Williams could see more work if Taysom Hill, who has eight carries thus far in 2024, is out due to a chest injury. With Kendre Miller on IR until at least Week 5 and Alvin Kamara seeing a hearty 22 touches in each game, Williams is a nice bet to continue to see some fantasy-relevant volume moving forward.

The Jets play host to AFC East rival New England tonight. Plenty of fantasy pieces are involved in this one, so let’s find a contest to play.

Have you tried Bleacher Nation Fantasy yet?

Their Rivals contest puts two sides against each other in a fantasy-style matchup. Here’s my entry for the TNF game. I’m rolling with Team A!
