TNF Preview and a Look Ahead
On paper, TNF should be a fun one tonight as we get the Vikings vs. Rams. But we all know how it can go. Today we have some early ranks, a look ahead, and the latest at 4for4.
All rankings are based on half-PPR scoring. For full ranks in a variety of scoring formats, head to 4for4.com.
Quarterbacks
What stands out: Caleb Williams is back in the top 10 following his bye week, and Baker Mayfield slides down to 11th thanks to a date with the Falcons and the depletion of his WR corps due to injury.
Running Backs
What stands out: Alvin Kamara, Tony Pollard, and Chuba Hubbard all fall into fantasy RB2 territory, while Aaron Jones, Jahmyr Gibbs, and Kareem Hunt take their places in Week 8.
Wide Receivers
What stands out: Last week was rough for WR injuries/illness among the top as we lost Chris Godwin for the season, and Deebo Samuel and DK Metcalf are week to week. Terry McLaurin slides down to WR18 thanks to a tough matchup with Chicago and the possibility of losing his QB, while Diontae Johnson’s freefall to WR48 is due to a swap to Bryce Young at QB for this week.
Tight Ends
What stands out: Cade Otton joins the TE1s as he may see more work this week without Mike Evans and Chris Godwin against Atlanta. Jake Ferguson and Cole Kmet regain their starting spots following their respective bye weeks.
We all need some edge above our league mates, which can be hard to find with so many injuries right now. Here are some good stashes ahead of Week 8.
✈️ Mike Williams, WR - Jets (10% rostered) - As the odd man out after Davante Adams was traded to the Jets, Williams could find a new home before the trade deadline of November 5th. Plenty of franchises could use the WR’s services so adding him now could be beneficial. While he hasn’t been very productive this year in an inconsistent New York offense and was hurt for most of 2023, Williams had two 1000+-yard campaigns with the Chargers, and from 2018-2022, he posted fantasy WR1 numbers once with two WR2 finishes all in half-PPR scoring per contest.
🐴 Troy Franklin, WR - Broncos (3% rostered) - The rookie took a step forward last week in both usage and yardage output. Franklin saw a season-high 23.1% target share which he turned into five catches for 50 yards, and that was after finding the end zone for his first NFL touchdown in Week 6. We can’t expect fellow Denver WR Courtland Sutton to see zero balls moving forward as he did last Thursday against the Saints, but it seems that Sean Payton is getting his fourth-rounder more involved as the season progresses. Favorable matchups with the Panthers, Ravens, Falcons, and Raiders are coming up, so now would be a good time to get ahead with Franklin.
🍔 Jaylen Warren, RB - Steelers (44% rostered) -The consistency is not there yet for Warren but he does appear to be on the healthier side and is coming off a 14-touch game against the Jets. The lead-back role still belongs to Najee Harris but with the lack of waiver options and shallowness of the RB pool, Warren should be stashed in all leagues.
🐈⬛ Ja’Tavion Sanders, TE - Panthers (1% rostered) - You may even need him now, but rookie Ja’Tavion Sanders saw 13 targets over the last two contests which he turned into 11 catches for 110 yards. Tommy Tremble has been out and is still questionable with a back injury so Sanders could keep seeing decent volume moving forward. He’s widely available at 99% so if you need TE help moving forward, Sanders may just be your guy.
The Rams play host to Minnesota tonight in LA. Plenty of fantasy pieces are involved in this one, so let’s find a contest to play.
