⭐️ ⭐️ Week 5 Fantasy Football Ranks

Fantasy Ranks and a TNF Preview

Happy Thursday, folks! While most aren’t stoked about having to watch the Bears tonight, it is still football. In today’s Deep Dive Newsletter, I’ll cover Week 5 ranks, a look ahead, the TNF matchup, and of course the happenings over at 4for4.

*Every Friday will feature a mailbag segment so if you have any questions you want answered, please send them to [email protected] by Thursday afternoon at 3:00 PM ET. Thanks!

All rankings are based on half-PPR scoring. For full ranks in a variety of scoring formats, head to 4for4.com.

Quarterbacks

What stands out: Joe Burrow, the current QB35 in fantasy points per game has rightfully fallen out of the top 12 while Sam Howell’s juicy matchup against the Bears lands him a spot at No. 12.

Running Backs

What stands out: Josh Jacobs climbs up to the third spot this week against a forgiving GB defense, while Raheem Mostert is replaced by teammate De’Von Achane in the top 12. Commander Brian Robinson is ranked at RB10 thanks to a beautiful TNF contest with the Bears.

Wide Receivers

What stands out: Now WR8 in half-PPR scoring on a per-game basis, Brandon Aiyuk joins the top 12, along with Nico Collins whose 18.0 points per contest puts him at WR12 on the season in that category.

Tight Ends

What stands out: George Kittle slides down to the TE10 spot courtesy of a tough Dallas defense, while on the other side of the ball, Jake Ferguson joins the starting ranks in Week 5.

Staying ahead of league mates can be a difference-maker in fantasy football. Stashing players a week ahead for streaming or eventual bye-week fill-ins can give us that edge we all crave. Here are some players with either great Week 5 matchups, or they’re in the position for more volume based on injuries ahead of them.

🐬 Braxton Berrios, WR (MIA) - With River Cracraft on IR, Berrios saw an increase in volume last week, in fact, he was the target leader in the Miami offense with six balls—one ahead of Tyreek Hill. While that will not always be the case or possibly never occur again, his usage and output were encouraging, and having a productive piece of a high-scoring offense is desirable in fantasy football. Stash Berrios now for some bye-week pluggage later.

🏴‍☠️ Cade Otton, TE (TB) - Don’t look now (or do) but Otton is the TE17 in half-PPR scoring and has a juicy few matchups on the horizon. The Bucs have their bye this week, but return to face the Lions, then Falcons who sit 26th and 30th, respectively, in TE aFPA through the first four weeks of the season. Get ahead of the streaming crowd and secure Otton this week if you’re TE-needy.

⚡️ Ronnie Rivers, RB (LAC) -It’s looking like sophomore Rivers is the backup to Kyren Williams in Los Angeles instead of Zach Evans, as he saw 28% of the backfield touches to Williams’ 72% last week. Rivers enjoyed a hearty nine rushing attempts and two targets on the day. While he has no stand-alone value right now, he is worth a bench spot for deeper RB-needy rosters.

I’m sure this seemed like a great idea when the schedule meetings took place, but this TNF contest could end up like the old Thursday stinkers from the past. There are still some fantasy pieces in the Commanders vs. Bears so let’s get to it.
