Week 5 means it’s time to make some moves if you’re winless as it’s much more difficult to make the playoffs from here. If you’re 2-2 or 1-3, some roster help is always a good thing and if you are undefeated, a bench stash or two may help you down the road.

🧀 Romeo Doubs WR, Packers (54% rostered)

Even with Christian Watson back in the mix, Doubs led the Packers in targets, receiving yards, and receptions last week and is the overall WR17 in half-PPR scoring. Watson will likely get more involved as the weeks go on, but Doubs has proven that he’s a viable WR3/flex play.

🐴 Jaleel McLaughlin RB, Broncos (3% rostered)

Javonte Williams sustained a hip injury in Week 4, but even before he was sidelined, McLaughlin had seen a rise in touches, with five in Week 3 and then 10 more on Sunday. Even if Williams doesn’t miss time, they’ll likely limit his volume to keep his health as fresh as possible. With the RB position thin and not many new names likely to pop up moving forward, McLaughlin is a nice add this week.

🐈‍⬛ Chuba Hubbard RB, Panthers (25% rostered)

After three weeks of Miles Sanders outsnapping Hubbard 61% to 36%, Week 4 was the reverse with the latter seeing more time on the field. It’s tough to tell how the backfield distribution will play out but grabbing Hubbard now in a down waiver wire week may pay off if the Panthers are trending towards more Hubbard moving forward.

🦁 Jameson Williams WR, Lions (32% rostered)

Until we see more from Williams he’s a speculative add but on paper, the Detroit WR should be a nice flex play with upside moving forward. Assuming he’s healthy, Williams is sliding into a highly productive offense and should see ample work at least in three WR sets to start.

Other Waiver Wire Candidates:

  • Rashid Shaheed WR-Saints (42%)

  • Michael Wilson, WR - Cardinals (2%)

  • Tyjae Spears, RB - Titans (24%)

  • Marvin Mims, WR - Broncos (39%)

  • Luke Musgrave, TE- Packers (36%)

  • Zach Ertz, TE - Cardinals (26%)

Playing the matchups is a viable strategy from week to week. Here’s a look at the top candidates for Week 5 in the four streamable positions. Only players rostered in 40% or fewer of Yahoo fantasy leagues will be discussed in this weekly segment.
