Quarterbacks

What stands out: With four teams on a bye and so many injuries plaguing the QB position, there are four new faces in the top 12 - Dak Prescott, Sam Howell, Jordan Love, and Derek Carr.

Running Backs

What stands out: Alvin Kamara, Saquon Barkley, and Breece Hall sit atop the RB ranks for the first time in 2023, while both Ken Walker and Tony Pollard fall down to RB16 and RB13, respectively.

Wide Receivers

What stands out: Garrett Wilson is back in WR1 territory thanks to a soft matchup with the Chargers, while Jaylen Waddle and Mike Evans round out the top 12 with Amon-Ra St. Brown and Brandon Aiyuk on byes this week.

Tight Ends

What stands out: Sophomore Trey McBride has a seat at the TE1 table for likely the first time in his career after seeing 14 targets last week, but has a difficult matchup against the Browns.

Staying ahead of league mates can be a difference-maker in fantasy football. Stashing players a week ahead for streaming or eventual bye-week fill-ins can give us that edge we all crave. Here are some players with either great Week 9 matchups, or they’re in the position for more volume based on injuries ahead of them.

🦬 Khalil Shakir, WR -(BUF) With Dawson Knox sidelined due to wrist surgery, Buffalo shied away from two TE sets, opening the door for more snaps (65%) for Khalil Shakir, up from 34% in Week 7. The Bills WR also saw a season-high in targets (6), nabbing all six for 92 yards. It also doesn’t hurt that three of their next four contests are against defensive units that sit 17th or worse in WR aFPA.

🪺 Michael Wilson, WR (ARI) He hasn’t exactly been the picture of consistency, but Michael Wilson could be in for some more quality volume if Kyler Murray enters the fold in the next few weeks. Wilson has been acting as the WR2 for Arizona and has seen five or more balls in three of his last five contests, with two trips to the end zone in that time frame. If Murray can invigorate this offense via the air, Wilson could be a nice bye-week filler down the stretch.

🦬 Leonard Fournette, RB (BUF) The former Buc was signed to Buffalo’s practice squad this week and could be elevated to the 53-man roster ahead of Sunday's matchup if things move along quickly as far as playbook and practice go. Leonard Fournette will likely be competing for backup duties with fellow veteran Latavius Murray, but considering Murray hasn’t been the most efficient runner with an average of just 3.6 yards per carry in 40 attempts, he could steal some of the work in both early and passing downs.

Can rookie QB Will Levis continue to breathe air into the TItans’ offense on the road in Pittsburgh? Let’s hope so, or else we could have another TNF stinker on our hands. There are some fantasy-relevant players in the mix no matter how the game shakes out, so let’s get to it.
